on vacation

Well I finally took a vacation or sorts. I am visiting my grandmother in the bay area of California. I won't be scrapbooking for a few days but I will be able to hear some more wonderful stories from my grandmother.

i need to find another career

I really need to find a new career, the one that I have now (the one that pays the bills) keeps me so busy that I can't even sleep let alone do the things that I love like photography and scrapbooking. Somehow I need to turn my hobby into my job..then I would be in heaven.

These are the two cakes that were created using the baby cricut. Disney Cars was used to cut out the peace signs, Kirby was created by using the George cart. The dragon was from Pagoda and the flame was from Disney Cars. There was suppose to be 2 dragons, one red and one black, but I could not get the black gum paste to cut. After 2 hours this is what the cakes looked like. Based on this experience, and the fact that the only place the gum paste is sold here in my town, I don't think I will be purchasing the cricut cake, unless I stop working, then maybe...but it is doubtful.

Cake with Cricut

Well I managed to make 2 cakes (one for my son and one for my daughter) using my baby cricut and my gypsy. After several trial and errors, both cakes did turn out.

I will post a picture very soon.

Hello Kitty Party Bags

I created 20 Party Bags for my 6 year old's birthday party. Since she loves the cricut and hello kitty so we proceeded to cut out 20 hello kitty icons together, which was actually easier then it appears I used my gypsy to put 8 icons on each 6x12 mat, then cut out a total of 24 icons. I use a zip pen to glue each peice onto the background black. After the icons were cut out and assembled, I cut the bag toppers, which was a simple coordinating paper cut into 4x4 square. I then used a MS punch to punch out the edge of one side. I scored and folded the square, then simply stapled the topper to the zip type of baggie (I used 4X6 baggie filled with fun goodies and candy). Then each Hello Kitty icon was glued (zip pen again) to the topper. The entire project took less then 2 hours, not bad for customized gift/party bags.
